This time's traveller: Keisuke Takazawa
While working at a company, he started a personal media about gadgets, cameras, and travel, and gradually moved his activities to social media. He became a popular YouTuber with his how-to videos on cameras and editing, based on the video techniques he learned by himself. He has been studying abroad in Melbourne, Australia since 2023.
"I want to go again!" - That place, says Keisuke Takazawa

One place I went to recently that really stuck in my mind was Singapore!
He had always wanted to visit Singapore, and in March 2023, he landed there for the first time. He was attracted to the diverse culture and compact cityscape of the country.

I stayed at Marina Bay Sands for two nights out of my four night stay. The infinity pool was amazing!
Marina Bay Sands was one of the places he had always wanted to visit, and although it was a little pricey, he was pleased with its scale, which is not found in Japan.

Editorial Department: The world's largest infinity pool is a place everyone wants to visit at least once. It's a famous spot when you think of Singapore!

I also recommend the national park "Gardens by the Bay". It's said to be a futuristic botanical garden, and there are things like the huge Supertree Grove and the Skywalk overlooking the botanical gardens from above, so I never got bored!

Supertree Grove
Although Singapore has roughly the same land area as Tokyo's 23 wards, it offers a wide range of dynamic facilities and scenery. It also seems to be a relatively safe city.
This small town is packed with a variety of charms, and its satisfaction and ease of sightseeing make it an easy place to recommend to first-time travelers.

Another feature of Singapore is that there are many foods that suit Japanese tastes.

The recommended dish is the signature soup of "Songhwa Bak Kut Teh"! Not only is the pork delicious, but the way the waiter pours you refills of soup like you would with Wankosoba is also fun.
You can enjoy the Asian atmosphere through the food, from areas lined with high-end stores to food courts serving local Malay cuisine and Chinatown stores that are open late into the night.

Editorial Department: What would you like to do next time in Singapore?

I want to go to Universal Studios Singapore!
Singapore has many activities such as casinos, Sentosa Island, and the Night Safari, but last time they were there, there weren't enough days and they weren't able to go to Universal Studios Singapore.
"Going to a warm place during the cold season in Japan really gets me excited," he says, adding that he's looking forward to having as much fun as he can at the theme parks in Singapore.

In addition, Takazawa Keisuke will share with us the charms of Singapore that he has seen!
Q & A about Keisuke Takazawa's travels
We got to see the real Keisuke Takazawa, who shares his travel memories in a wonderful Vlog! We asked him a variety of questions in a Q&A format.
Q. What made you start traveling?
A. A little later, when I was about 25 years old in Italy.

Actually, when I was a student, I thought Japan was the most interesting place, so I wasn't very interested in other countries. I was afraid of different cultures.
However, when I went to Italy for the first time at the age of 25, I was fascinated by the cultural differences between Italy and Tokyo - for example, having an espresso at a coffee stand in the morning before heading out - and I discovered my love for travelling.

Q.What do you consider when deciding on a travel destination?
A. Whether or not you can see scenery that is different from Tokyo

After discovering my love for traveling abroad in Italy, I have been to many different cities, but what really moves me is seeing scenery that is different from Tokyo.
It's exciting to experience the differences in the architecture, scenery, and atmosphere!

Q.What made you decide to study abroad in Melbourne?
A. Oysters and (laughs) tolerant streets

I went to Melbourne with some fellow YouTubers for work, and the guide took me to an oyster bar, and I fell in love with the deliciousness of oysters! It was such an unforgettable dining experience that I even had an oyster-eating party with my fellow travel companions afterwards.
Another reason I was attracted to Australia was because I felt that they have a culture of tolerance that accepts others. In Japan, the rules can be a bit strict. I really like the atmosphere of the towns in Australia, where you can feel the brightness and kindness of the people.

Q. Finally, what does “travel” mean to you, Takasawa Keisuke?
A. A new cultural quarry

When I travel, I feel like I gain new knowledge that I didn't have before, and my knowledge is broadened.
There are moments when my rigid preconceptions crumble and I get some kind of stimulation. I think traveling is a way to discover new values for yourself.
This is a unique perspective from Keisuke Takazawa, who is interested in many things and is a man of action. If you try out different experiences with an open mind like this, your trip may become even more interesting.

Traveler's friends
Takasawa Keisuke introduced us to Eiki (TikTok: @eikiakiyama), an active video creator.

He met Eiki when he was on a trip with some fellow video friends, and one of the members introduced him to join in unexpectedly! After spending a night in Nagano, they became good friends.
"What's interesting is that he's not bound by anything. He's very greedy when it comes to filming," he said of his impression.
What kind of travel stories will she tell us? Look forward to it!
