This time's traveller: Eiki
He spent his childhood in Singapore, the UK, and the US. He started making videos in college and became a freelance video creator after graduating. He uses his natural language skills and global sensibilities to produce videos for overseas clients and travel-related videos.
The place where Eiki says he "wants to go again!"

I would like to go back to Hawaii again.
Eiki has traveled to over 40 countries, but surprisingly, his first trip to Hawaii was only recently, in September 2023.

It was one of those places I had vaguely wanted to go to someday, but had been putting it off. I had a strong image of tourist destinations like Waikiki, but the grandeur of Oahu's nature exceeded my imagination, and I became completely hooked.
Eiki loves nature, and the ocean seemed to make a particularly strong impression on him.

The contrast of the natural colors - blue sky, emerald green ocean, white sand beach... was simply amazing. Also, when I was swimming on the North Shore, a horde of dolphins appeared!
Eiki had a very rare and valuable experience. He said that he was extremely excited about this first-time experience.
Another moving aspect was being able to experience firsthand the local people's sense of distance, understanding, and respect for the ocean.

The video creator recommended the Kaaneana Cave, said to be the cave of the gods in Hawaii. It was popular as a power spot, but recently it has also been attracting attention as a photo spot.

Once you leave the cave, you'll be overwhelmed by the ocean that spreads out before your eyes! It's truly an "island of content"! Everywhere you look is picturesque. You can really feel the richness of nature's content.
Hawaii is known for its shopping in Waikiki and relaxing on the beach, but it also has a wide range of activities. It's a must-visit spot for nature lovers like Eiki.

Editorial Department: What would you like to do next time in Hawaii?

Next I want to go to Kauai! I want to see the cliff coastline of the Na Pali Coast and do some whale watching. I want to enjoy Hawaii's nature to the fullest!
The state of Hawaii is made up of six main islands. Kauai, where Eiki wants to go, is about a 30-minute flight from Oahu, and is also known as the "Garden Island." Most of the island is covered in tropical rainforest.
"I want to go and see it with my own eyes because all the scenery is said to be special," says Eiki with shining eyes. The day when you can see a video of Kauai on Eiki's TikTok may be coming soon!
We will also introduce some photos of the charms of Hawaii that Eiki felt.
Eiki's Travel Q & A
We take a look at the real Eiki, a video creator known for his cool short videos! We asked him a variety of questions in a Q&A format.
Q. What first got you interested in traveling?
A. When I was in high school, I went on a cross-country tour of North and South Vietnam with friends.

Since I had originally lived abroad, the hurdle of going abroad was low for me.
When I was in international school, I went on a tour across the north and south of Vietnam with a Vietnamese friend. It was a week-long trip on a budget with the cheapest Go Pro. I had some encounters I could never have imagined, and I learned the joy of taking videos.

Q. Which travel destination do you think changed your values?
A. The magnificent nature of South Africa

When I went to South Africa in 2018, I was overwhelmed by the difference in the scale of nature. Also, I don't think it's often that you feel your life is in danger, but I challenged myself to go to mountain ranges that require a lot of courage...
But once you overcome that, the view you see is a priceless treasure. It's hard to find something so hard to get, and it's important to motivate yourself to achieve it.
Blyde River Canyon
Hole in the Wall
Lion's Head
Lisbon Falls
Q. Where would you like to visit in the future?
A. A cenote in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula!

Recently, the cenotes in Mexico have been a hot topic among TikTokers! They are said to be sacred springs, and are clear blue. It's one of the spots I'd love to go and shoot a video there.
Q. Finally, what does “travel” mean to you, Eiki?
A. An opportunity to test your limits and get closer to your ideals

I travel with the idea of getting out of my comfort zone in mind. I can reexamine myself by talking to people I meet on my travels, and I can have experiences that overturn my common sense. I feel that these experiences accumulate and enrich my life. Traveling is an opportunity to challenge your limits.
Eiki says that it's up to you to decide what you get out of your travels. It was dazzling to see him choosing paths that ordinary tourists don't take and enjoying experiences that no one else can. Why not use his "full-hearted enjoyment" as inspiration to decide on your next travel destination?
Traveler's friends
Eiki introduced us to Konami (TikTok: @konamitravel), a yoga instructor and influencer.

Apparently, he met Konami through a creative friend.
"What's important on social media is the balance between empathy and admiration. The world she depicts gets just right."
He says there are many things to learn from his unique sense.
What kind of travel stories will she tell us? Look forward to it!
