JAL Hometown Support Team Akita Prefecture Representative Togashi
My name is Togashi and I'm from Mitane Town in Akita Prefecture. I love hot springs.
Mitane Town is home to Moritake Onsen, the saltiest hot spring in Japan, and I used to go there almost every day from my childhood until I moved to Tokyo.
This time, I would like to introduce some of the charms of Akita to you all!
The Charm of Akita Prefecture
Surrounded by rich nature, you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons as well as traditional festivals and events.
Other attractions include the delicious rice, seafood, and other food, hot springs, and the roadside stations where you can find a wide variety of wild plants and vegetables unique to Akita.
Please come to Akita!
The local souvenirs chosen by the Akita Prefecture Hometown Support Team are...
"CAS® Shinko"

Price: 2-pack from 1,300 yen (photo shows 3-pack for 1,950 yen) / Seller: Sekito

A long-established confectionery store founded in 1937. Previously only available in stores with a one-day expiration date, the new freezing technology "CAS®" has made it possible to ship to other regions, allowing customers to enjoy the texture and taste of freshly made confections even after thawing. Made with 100% non-glutinous rice from Akita Prefecture, the confections have a chewy yet crisp texture compared to daifuku and dango mochi. The bean paste is not too sweet, so you can eat as much as you like.
You can eat the remaining red bean paste as is, but we also recommend adding some shiratama or mochi rice cakes to it, or spreading it on toast.
The products sold in stores are packed in a tiered box with plenty of smooth bean paste, giving them a luxurious feel and making them perfect as gifts.
Available at Sekito Bypass Store (Noshiro City, Akita Prefecture)
