JAL Hometown Support Team Fukushima Prefecture Representative Fukaya
An optimist who laughs every day and is very happy just to be alive.
I like watching the stars, going for drives and going to the theater, but given the current situation, I'm finding solace in my home aquarium (with corydoras, medaka, etc.).
The Charm of Fukushima Prefecture
Fukushima Prefecture is large and has three distinct regions, Hamadori, Nakadori, and Aizu, each with their own distinctive features.
There are mountains, the sea, hot springs, delicious vegetables, fruits, alcohol, livestock and seafood, warm people and wide, beautiful skies. Fukushima actually has it all.
Come experience Fukushima, where the seasons change beautifully.
The local souvenirs chosen by the Fukushima Hometown Support Team are...
"Kumatappan"

Price: 1,000 yen for 8 pieces / Seller: Kumatappan Honpo

Sukagawa citizens' soul food. It's not bread but sweets.
Its simple appearance is that of an oval shaped cake sprinkled with white sugar. The smooth bean paste is wrapped in flour mixed with brown sugar, and after baking, it is wrapped in more white sugar. It may seem like a shock to see so much sugar, but the smooth bean paste inside is smooth, giving it a refined sweetness that melts in your mouth.
It is usually paired with strong tea, but ever since I was a child I have preferred to have it with milk.
Available for purchase at Kumatappan Honpo (Sukagawa City, Fukushima Prefecture)
