JAL Hometown Support Team Osaka Prefecture Representative, Yanagisawa
It is no exaggeration to say that my encounters with so many delicious things have supported my life (laughs).
But what I always miss are the flavors I'm used to back home. I'm a true "Naniwa kid" born and raised in Osaka.
The Charm of Osaka Prefecture
Osaka is known as the "city of gourmets" and is known for its abundance of delicious food, but I think its greatest charm is its people.
Osaka people have grown up in an environment where "interesting" is the best compliment, and they are very kindhearted. If they come across someone in trouble on the street, they won't leave them alone! It's a city filled with hospitality and the warmth of the people will touch your heart.
The local souvenirs chosen by the Osaka Prefecture Hometown Support Team are...
"Tako Shan"

Price: 2,436 yen / Seller: Katashimo Winery

Osaka is one of the leading grape-producing areas in Japan, and winemaking is thriving in the Kawachi region. Takochan is a sparkling wine made using the local Delaware grapes.
The "tako" in Takoshan comes from the "tako" in takoyaki. It's a unique name that is typical of Osaka, but the taste is authentic and goes perfectly with flour-based foods! Why not try it with some Osaka gourmet food?
Available for purchase at Katashimo Winery's direct sales store BIG ONE (Kashiwara City, Osaka Prefecture)
