So, in order to make the most of this summer, I've created a list of places I want to go during summer vacation.
There are plenty of summer activities you can plan now, such as beaches, pools, festivals, and gourmet food. Use this list as a reference to enjoy a classic yet unique summer trip.
Summer means the sea! Different ways to enjoy each beach
[Niigata] Swimming while watching the planes. "Yama no Shimo Funaechohama Beach"

Among all the swimming beaches in Japan, one with a unique location is Yama no Shimo Funaechohama in Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture. What makes this beach special is that it is located between Niigata Airport and Niigata Nishi Port. It is a rare spot where you can watch ships and planes take off and land while swimming in the sea.
Especially on clear summer evenings, the sight of planes taking off against the backdrop of a bright red sun is a spectacular sight. If you lie down on the beach and watch the planes come and go, you will be able to immerse yourself in a comfortable sense of freedom, as if you are enveloped in the vastness of the sky.
The sea is surrounded by wave-breaking blocks, so the waves are gentle. People who want to relax on the beach or families who want to play on swim rings can spend their time however they like.

Wave pool (when it first opened)
Also, the Yamanoshita Seaside Park Pool is open only in the summer to the south of the beach. In addition to the very popular wave pool, there is a 25m pool and a children's pool, and you can watch planes take off and land from here too.
Why not head straight from Niigata Airport and enjoy swimming in the sea or the pool?
