Tomamu is a popular tourist destination in Hokkaido. It may be known as a winter resort, but there are plenty of spots and activities that can only be enjoyed in the summer.
Among them, Hoshino Resorts Tomamu, one of Hokkaido's largest resorts, is surrounded by nature and is packed with a variety of attractions that can be enjoyed throughout the seasons.
The indoor pool here is a great place to have fun even on rainy days. Mina-Mina Beach is especially popular as a wave pool where random waves of all sizes appear every 30 minutes. Even those who aren't good at swimming can enjoy themselves by just floating in the water.
There are also plenty of other activities available, such as a 30cm deep children's pool and SUP experiences. Although there are families, couples, and groups coming and going, it's not too crowded, which is a plus.
The temperature inside the glass-walled building is kept at around 30°C, so even though it's a summer resort in the north, you can spend some time here feeling as if you were on an island of perpetual summer.
