Highlights of Kagawa Prefecture
金刀比羅宮
古くから「さぬきのこんぴらさん」として親しまれている海の神様です。参道の長い石段は有名で、本宮まで785段、奥社までの合計は1368段にも及びます。参道から奥社までの石段沿いには大門、五人百姓、国の重要文化財「書院」。広い境内には重要文化財「旭社」など由緒ある建造物が点在するほか、宝物館などには第一級の美術品や文化財が陳列されています。
参道の両脇には土産物やうどんの店などが並び、周辺には、旧金毘羅大芝居（金丸座）や高灯籠など見どころも数多くあります。
