A heart-filling morning meal at a cafe run by a miso shop | Cafe Zoumeshi

When you think of Nagoya, the first thing that comes to mind is having breakfast at a coffee shop. When you open the door of "Kissa Zoumeshi," attracted by the retro display case, you'll find a nostalgic atmosphere inside the store.
Cafe Zoumeshi is run by Imai Jozo, a miso shop that has been in business since 1959 in Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture. The owner fell in love with the interior of the shop, which was originally a coffee shop, and renovated it while retaining the atmosphere of the Showa era.
Sitting at a table with the morning sun streaming in through the cute stained glass, we enjoyed "anko butter toast" made with moderately sweet homemade bean paste and hand-dripped coffee.
In addition to breakfast and coffee, there are plenty of menus that are perfect for when you want to fill up your stomach, such as "miso rice with meat" and "miso stewed udon" made with specially selected homemade miso. The popular cream soda is also enjoyed as an accompaniment to your favorite idol activities.
The spacious interior includes a tatami room, making this a great coffee shop to stop by even if you're traveling with a suitcase in tow.

The cute toast set with retro silver tableware, the showcase next to the entrance, and the stained glass at the back of the store all create an even more nostalgic atmosphere when photographed with a Polaroid camera.

Experience the history of Western tableware and the evolution of design | Noritake Garden

Noritake Forest, a ceramics complex located on the headquarters grounds of Noritake, a Nagoya-based Western tableware brand, is lined with impressive red brick buildings.
This red brick building was built as the first factory for manufacturing ceramics during the Meiji period. This place became the birthplace of modern ceramics, and produced many Western-style tableware, including Japan's first dinner set, which went on to spread around the world.
Photography is permitted inside the Noritake Museum, which displays "Old Noritake" pieces made from the Meiji to Showa periods. Why not enjoy a visually pleasing time while learning about the history of ceramics that reflected the global trends of the time, such as vases with graceful curves influenced by the Art Nouveau style, and ornaments with modern and sophisticated designs in the Art Deco style?

The retro red brick and the instant camera go together perfectly. They create a classic atmosphere.

Learn about Toyota's history and encounter retro Showa-era cars | Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology "Automobile Pavilion"

The Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology is a museum showcasing the history of Japanese industrial technology through the evolution of Toyota Group's textile machinery and automobile technology. The facility is housed in a red brick factory built in the Taisho era.
The Automobile Pavilion has an area where Toyota cars representative of the era are lined up. Toyota's first truck, the Toyoda Truck G1 Model, built in 1935 (Showa 10), has a bright green body with a wooden frame, giving it a retro feel not found in modern cars.
In particular, the car designs that were popular during the Showa era are said to be "cute" and well-received by people of all generations.
In the explanation area, where you can learn about the history of the Japanese automobile industry, there is also an exhibition of graphic designs such as advertisements from that time. The colors and fonts also have a "Showa retro" feel to them.

A relaxing lunch at a popular local bakery | Mana no Mori

Mana no Mori in Kitanagoya City is a bakery that has long been loved by locals.
It's a popular restaurant with a constant stream of customers every day, including not only locals but also many who drive from far away.
In addition to signature items such as curry bread made with their special homemade curry and crispy krone breads with cream squeezed on after you order, there is also a wide variety of savory breads, such as miso cutlet sandwiches seasoned with sweet miso, sandwiches using salted bread, and tartines filled with lots of fillings, making it difficult to choose from the selection.
The cute logos on the signs and the rows of bread go perfectly with the film of the Instax camera. The motifs you come across by chance in the city may become special memories if you go out with your Instax camera in hand.
If you include your hands in the food photo, it will give a better sense of the atmosphere of the place. If you're shooting outdoors, we recommend using a wall or the sky as the background.

A space filled with "Showa retro" that sends your thoughts back to the culture of the time | Kitanagoya City History and Folklore Museum (Showa Everyday Life Museum)

Kitanagoya City History and Folklore Museum, also known as the "Showa Everyday Life Museum," is home to a large number of authentic everyday items that colored life during the Showa era.
The area that recreates a home from that time features furniture and home appliances such as pendulum clocks and CRT televisions, while the area with school supplies features realistic items that children at the time would have had, such as school bags, water bottles, and stationery.
Additionally, while the brand logos and product appearances that are familiar even today are reminiscent of the Showa era products, there is something tasteful and nostalgic about them.
Many younger generations enjoy the designs of the time for their freshness, while many who grew up in the Showa era get excited and say, "It brings back memories!" The museum's appeal is that it can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

The exhibits vary depending on the time of year.

When shooting in a place where there are a variety of uniform items, such as candy packages and signs, you can determine the composition by shooting from a slight distance.
