First day
Fukuoka is easily accessible, so you can travel using public transportation such as trains and buses. On the first day, you'll travel around Fukuoka City and Dazaifu City. In addition to enjoying Fukuoka cuisine, including popular long-established cafes and food stalls that you'll want to stop by when you come to Fukuoka, you'll also enjoy the first day at a retro amusement park!
Fukuoka's oldest coffee shop, "Brasileiro," serves only 15 cutlets
Fukuoka has easy access to the city from the airport. Take the subway from Fukuoka Airport and you will arrive at Gion Station in 8 minutes. After walking for about 10 minutes, you will arrive at Brasileiro.

This is the oldest coffee shop in Fukuoka and has been loved in Hakata since it opened in 1934!
The main attraction here, where you can enjoy home-roasted coffee and handmade Western food, is the minced meat cutlet, of which only 15 are served per day. The unique cutlet, shaped like an inari or rugby ball, has a crispy batter and a fluffy, juicy inside, making it an unforgettable taste once you've tried it. Minced meat cutlets can be reserved, so if you're worried about them selling out, it's a good idea to make a reservation in advance.
The photo shows the most popular "Classic Blend."
When you order lunch, a coffee set is also included. The coffee, which has been roasted in-house for a long time, boasts a mellow and deep flavor.
They also have a selection of sweet treats such as fruit sandwiches and scones, so it's a great place to stop by for tea time. The cute, retro interior makes you feel like you've traveled back in time, and it's a fun place to spend some time.

A nostalgic spot that will bring you back to your childhood! Have fun in the photogenic "Dazaifu Amusement Park"
From Gofukumachi Station, the subway closest to "Brasileiro," it takes 3 minutes to get off at Tenjin Station, and from there it's a 5-minute walk to Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station. After transferring, it takes about 30 minutes to arrive at Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station, and head to Dazaifu Amusement Park in the grounds of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.

This amusement park, which opened over 60 years ago, has a pop color scheme right from the entrance, and is full of cuteness and nostalgia that retro fans will love!
There are many Showa-era retro attractions, such as the "Surprise House" where you can have a mysterious experience that can only be found here in Kyushu, and the "Merry-go-round" which is popular as a photo spot that matches the retro atmosphere of the park. Have fun returning to your childhood and maybe discover a new side of your partner!
The area is packed with sights worth seeing within walking distance, including the neighboring Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and Kyushu National Museum. Enjoy exploring Dazaifu while you're there.

Eat and drink your way through the new retro food stalls of Nagahama

Return to Fukuoka city and head to Nagahama Yatai Street. The street was in danger of disappearing due to the aging of the shop owners, but it was revived in June 2023 after a public call for new operators.
This is a popular spot where you can enjoy lively food stalls.

Eight old and new food stalls line the street, preserving the atmosphere of a traditional food stall! From the locally loved "Nagahama Ramen" to the first food stall specializing in mentaiko, authentic Chinese food, and a food stall with a baseball theme, there are so many different food stalls that you'll be spoilt for choice.

We recommend visiting several food stalls and sampling a wide variety of gourmet foods, and spending a fun evening interacting with the locals.

Great location for shopping and sightseeing. Enjoy a luxurious stay at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka, located within Canal City Hakata, a complex that is a landmark of Hakata.

The guest rooms are spacious and relaxing, with an interior that blends Japanese and Western styles, and some rooms offer views of the Nakasu nightscape from the windows.
There are also plenty of restaurants and bars to enjoy a luxurious hotel stay.
It's located in the center of Hakata and is easily accessible, and you can also enjoy the illuminations and fountain show at Canal City Hakata, so you're sure to have a great time at night in Fukuoka.

The Blue Wing Moji (Drawbridge) is one of the largest pedestrian-only drawbridges in Japan. This bridge rises at a 60-degree angle from the water surface six times a day in accordance with the passage of ships. It is said that the first couple to cross the bridge when it closes will be together for life, so it has also been certified as a "sacred place for lovers."

The "Osaka Shosen" is one of the most representative facilities of Mojiko Retro. As an international port terminal, it was one of the most important bases in Japan, connecting Mojiko with the rest of the world. The building was constructed using Taisho-era architectural techniques, and is also famous as a masterpiece of architecture.
Cafe Mathière on the first floor serves up its signature dish, grilled banana honey toast. Enjoy a relaxing time together in the modern Taisho-era architecture and space while enjoying this sweet treat.

Enjoy a stroll through the Showa era streets and search for nostalgic scenes in the shopping district
The Mojiko area is home to many small, old-fashioned markets and shopping streets! You can enjoy looking for local gourmet food and souvenirs while strolling through these shopping streets that have a somewhat nostalgic atmosphere. We've picked out two retro shopping streets within walking distance.
Mojiko's main shopping street, Sakaemachi Gintengai, has a nostalgic atmosphere and is often used for filming movies. There are also areas lined with old-style cafes and general stores, making it a great place to take a break. Sakaemachi Gintengai is also dotted with trick art as part of the Machinaka Art Project. This is an area where you can enjoy both walking around and taking photos.
