Recommended spots for sightseeing and business in Nagato Yumoto Onsen
If you're planning on staying longer and working remotely, you'll want to explore different parts of your destination. Here we'll introduce you to some recommended spots in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, including popular tourist spots and places where you can get a little work done in between your work.
A must-see for lukewarm water lovers! The legendary 600-year-old hot spring "Onyu"

A wooden exterior surrounded by glass windows on three sides
First, there is "Onyu," an outdoor bath that represents Nagato Yumoto Onsen. It is the only public bath in the venerable Nagato Yumoto Onsen. It has a history of over 600 years, but underwent a dramatic renovation in 2020. As you walk through the hot spring town, you'll find yourself stopping in your tracks and asking yourself, "What is this stylish building!?" The stylish exterior design will have you stopping in your tracks.
Onyu's hot spring source is located directly under the building, so you can enjoy a bath while watching the spring gushing forth. Not only does the bathhouse collect 39 degree hot spring water and pour it into the bathtub, but the bath also has a double "foot spring" that bubbles up from the stone bottom, making for fresh water.

A mysterious space where paper strips separate the rock bed from the bathtub
There is only one bathtub, but the moment you step in, it feels so good you'll find yourself letting out a cry! The soft, velvety water gives off a faint sulfur scent.

A bathtub filled with hot water
Another major feature of Onyu is that it is lukewarm water. By soaking in the lukewarm water for a long time, you can warm your body to the core, so it is recommended for people who tend to have poor circulation.
In addition, lukewarm water stimulates the "parasympathetic nervous system," making you feel more relaxed and helping to relieve stress and fatigue. It has a high relaxation effect, making it perfect for a relaxing bath. Once you experience lukewarm water, you may find yourself yearning for the warmth of human skin and unable to escape.

"Onyu Hiroba" where you can enjoy a hammock anytime, anywhere

If you want to relax or take a break, we recommend the spacious lawn area of Onyu Hiroba.
There are four hammocks set up in this square. Anyone can use them for free. When you're stuck for ideas while working, just sway back and forth in the hammock... Just let nature take over and you'll feel refreshed in an instant. Your motivation switch will be turned on.
Additionally, behind the hammocks there is a covered table and chairs that provide shade. If you are worried about getting a sunburn, please use this.
