"The Intern" Partners Coffee

New trends emerge one after the other in New York, and they change at a rapid pace. It is not uncommon for stores to change names or even businesses to replace each other every few years. Partners Coffee in Brooklyn is one such store that has changed its name and restarted.

Formerly known as "Toby's Estate Coffee," this cafe was used as a filming location for the movie "The Intern." The scene in the movie where Ben (Robert De Niro) buys coffee there is very famous. Due to licensing issues, the store was remodeled to its current form in April 2019. However, the only thing that has changed is the store name and the packaging design of the coffee beans; the professional baristas, cozy atmosphere, and high-quality coffee remain the same.
The high ceilings and spacious space are well balanced with the warmth of wood and modern metal, and it is a common sight to see local creators working with a cup of coffee in hand. It is also recommended as a place to take a break during a stroll through the fashionable Brooklyn district. In addition to this store, there are three other stores in New York City, including in Manhattan and Queens.

The Godfather II: Caffe Reggio

Caffe Reggio, a long-established cafe in Manhattan's Greenwich Village district, was featured in the 1974 classic "The Godfather II." Opened in 1927, this cafe was America's first Italian cafe, and was the first to introduce cappuccino to the country.
The charming interior has a retro feel that reflects the 97 years of history and tradition since the establishment of the restaurant. Over 80 items, including Italian Renaissance paintings and the cappuccino machine that was used when the restaurant first opened, are displayed on the walls and shelves and are part of the interior. The fan attached to the ceiling is a prop used in the movie "Casablanca" and is still in use today.

It is always bustling as a hangout spot for local regulars, artists, and people who love New York and the area. In the past, famous people such as Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley have visited. Of course, even if you are visiting for the first time while sightseeing, the atmosphere is very comfortable. In addition to cappuccino and homemade tiramisu, the shop's namesake "Crepregio" is also recommended, a savory crepe filled with cheese and spinach. Beer and wine are also available in the evening. Please enjoy the taste and atmosphere that is completely different from chain stores.

If you would like to have a fun meal with friends, this is the place to go!
Here are some recommended spots for lunch, brunch, or dinner with movie-loving friends.
The Devil Wears Prada Bubby's

The TriBeCa district of Manhattan is an upscale area with an industrial atmosphere where stately brick buildings still remain. In one corner of the area is a popular brunch spot called "Bubby's."

The restaurant has many paintings on the brick walls, and you can enjoy your meal at a warm wooden table in a relaxed atmosphere. This is the restaurant where Andy's (Anne Hathaway) boyfriend, Nate (Adrian Grenier), worked in the movie "The Devil Wears Prada," and it appears many times in the movie, such as the scene where Andy celebrates being featured in a fashion magazine. Popular menu items include classic American dishes such as hamburgers, pancakes, and eggs Benedict, but in addition to the breakfast and brunch menu, the restaurant is also very popular at night.

The popular menu item is Eggs Benedict. The drink is a sweet and sour, refreshing passion lemonade. ©Kasumi Abe
If you're not sure what to order, try the eggs Benedict, which originated in New York. Choose from avocado and tomato, Canadian bacon, smoked salmon, and a side of salad or home fries (mashed, deep-fried diced potatoes). The English muffin is fluffy and the soft-boiled egg is soft and creamy. It's always crowded with locals and tourists, and is almost always full, so we recommend making a reservation on the website.

Serendipity3 is a restaurant that appeared in the movie "Serendipity" of the same name, and is said to have been visited by famous people such as Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol in the 1950s. It is located right next to Bloomingdale's, a popular department store in Midtown.
Upon entering the store, you'll find a large miscellaneous goods section, and at the back is a food and drink section with a pop and cute interior that's perfect for social media. The ceiling is decorated with countless antique stained glass lampshades and mirror balls, and there's a skylight that creates a bright atmosphere.

The chocolate-flavored frozen shake "Frozen Hot Chocolate" that the main characters Jonathan (John Cusack) and Sarah (Kate Beckinsale) drink in the movie is extremely popular, and you can see many people coming to drink it, from families with children to single diners. It is enough for two people to share, and it comes with plenty of whipped cream. You can also add alcohol, such as Irish cream liquor, for an additional fee. The recommended food is the hamburger, which is always delicious. Dip the pile of fries that come with it into the frozen hot chocolate and you'll have a blissful moment! To avoid the crowds, it's best to go right after opening.

Follow in the footsteps of your idol and enjoy takeaway sweets
Manhattan has many parks and public spaces. If you have so many places you want to go that you don't have time to stop by a cafe, why not try takeout or a stylish, quick break at a standing cafe like this one?
Gossip Girl - Sant Ambroeus

Sant Ambroeus is an Italian cafe that appeared in the popular American TV drama "Gossip Girl." It is a chain that originated in Milan and was founded in 1936 by two pastry chefs. In addition to the flagship store in Milan, there are 12 other stores across the US. In the show, it appeared as the favorite cafe of Blair (Leighton Meester) and Serena (Blake Lively), and there was an impressive scene where they appeared on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art with coffee in hand. Even now, when you order coffee there, it is poured into the cute pink coffee cups that are familiar from the movie.

On a nice day, enjoy a cup of coffee in the park with some fluffy and moist seasonal muffins, freshly made sandwiches, cakes, and more. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which also appeared in the film, is just a 6-minute walk from the Madison Avenue store (1000 Madison Ave., New York, NY 10075), so why not stop by after viewing the art?
