Enjoy a meal filled with tofu while overlooking Kyoto at "Kyoto Tofu Fujino"
When you think of Kyoto's gourmet food, the first thing that comes to mind is tofu and yuba. They are healthy, delicious, and popular with people of all ages and genders.

Located on the 11th floor of the Isetan department store in the JR Kyoto Station building, "Kyoto Tofu Fujino" is a restaurant directly managed by "Kyoto Tofu Fujino," which offers tofu made with 100% domestic soybeans. You can enjoy a variety of original dishes made with fresh tofu and yuba delivered daily from a factory in Tango, Kyoto.

There are 52 seats in the relaxing restaurant. The table by the window with a panoramic view of Kyoto from the large window is the best seat. (You cannot choose your seat.)

If you want a quick tofu lunch, we recommend the "Lunch Tofu Set (2,310 yen)." This healthy yet delicious set includes the specialty fluffy Oboro tofu, raw yuba sashimi, sesame tofu, and soy milk cream croquettes.

The creamy Oboro Tofu melts smoothly in your mouth.... It has a slightly warm and comforting taste. You can add pickled black tuna or bonito flakes as condiments, or eat it simply with special soy sauce and salt.

If you want to fully enjoy tofu, try the "Lunchtime Yutofu Set (4,840 yen)." This full course meal includes yutofu as the main dish, as well as raw yuba sashimi, yuba tempura, and yuba and mushroom vinegar dish.

The finished hot tofu is cooked thoroughly and has a distinctive rich and sweet taste. It is firm, but when you eat it, it melts lightly and fluffy, and the gentle flavor spreads throughout your mouth. This meal allows you to enjoy Kyoto's delicious tofu and yuba to the fullest.
You can have as many refills as you like of the Oboro Tofu and Yu Tofu that come with the course! Why not try this exquisite meal where you can eat your fill of delicious Kyoto tofu while taking in the Kyoto scenery?

Kyogoku Kaneyo, a long-established eel restaurant with a retro Taisho-era feel in Shinkyogoku, Kyoto
Shinkyogoku is a historic shopping street located in the center of Kyoto. In addition to popular gourmet spots and souvenir shops, it is also home to supermarkets and movie theaters, and is always bustling with tourists and locals.

Kyogoku Kaneyo is an eel restaurant founded in the Meiji era, located just off Rokkaku-dori Street from Shinkyogoku Shopping Arcade. The wooden building and the shop curtain that reads "Japan's No. 1 Eel" have remained unchanged since the restaurant first opened, giving the restaurant a sense of tradition.

The interior of the restaurant has been repeatedly repaired to maintain its good old appearance. The first floor has table seating, the second floor has tatami rooms, and they also hold monthly comedy shows.

While waiting for the specialty "Kinshi-don," we recommend the "Chawanmushi (800 yen)." The smooth and finely steamed chawanmushi is filled with a gentle flavor from a large piece of eel, kamaboko, lily root, and other ingredients.

The "Kinshi-don (regular) (2,800 yen)" is surprisingly big with a large egg omelet that spills out of the bowl! The soft and beautiful grilled surface shows the skill of the chef. Apparently, covering the bowl with the egg omelet keeps the rice and eel from getting cold.

The Edo-style grilled eel is cooked in a secret sauce that has been added to and used since the restaurant first opened, and the tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled egg) is moist and flavored with dashi. The savory aroma of the eel will whet your appetite!

The combination of the crispy, fragrantly cooked eel with a subtle sweetness, the moist egg omelet, and the rice coated in sauce will fill you with happiness the moment you eat it. You can eat them all together, or you can just eat the eel or just the egg omelet, which is delicious.
The combination of carefully selected domestic eel and expertly cooked tamagoyaki (egg roll) is a must-try dish if you come to Kyoto.
