"Peninsula Hospitality" - a luxurious space where you can feel at home
The Peninsula Hotels opened in Hong Kong in 1928 and has 11 hotels around the world. The Peninsula Tokyo opened in 2007 in Yurakucho, the center of Japan's economy and tourism. Opposite the Imperial Palace and Hibiya Park, this is an area where you can enjoy lush greenery while still being in the heart of the city.

As soon as you step inside the hotel, you'll feel a complete change from the hustle and bustle of the city and a sense of calm and elegance. The interior design, which incorporates elements of Japanese culture into a modern style, was created by interior designer Yukio Hashimoto. The lobby, where guests from all over the world come and go, is Japanese yet exotic, and the extraordinary atmosphere will get you in the mood for a trip.

Each guest room has an open window from which you can enjoy the city view. The luxurious atmosphere created by the carefully selected furnishings, such as a single chestnut door and a vermilion-painted counter, is the best part of a hotel stay. At the same time, the comfort of being able to relax as if you were at home is embodied in the spirit of hospitality that can be called "Peninsula Hospitality."

A special morning spent in such a relaxing space. We will introduce you to the luxurious breakfast served in the in-room dining at The Peninsula Tokyo.
Make your morning even more special with in-room dining breakfast
At The Peninsula Tokyo, you can enjoy the hotel's signature dishes in the comfort of your own room with in-room dining. Breakfast is served from 6:00 to 11:00. We recommend that you contact the room service staff via the extension number and make a reservation by the day before.
We offer four types of breakfast sets, including the classic-style "The Peninsula Breakfast," where you can choose your main dish, such as eggs or toast. We also have a full a la carte menu, where you can order individual items.
When we spoke to public relations officer Shu Toyoshima, he said, "We want to provide as many options as possible to satisfy guests with all kinds of lifestyles. Offering a wide variety to choose from is one of the Peninsula's specialties." The lineup, which can be enjoyed over and over again, even for something as simple as breakfast, is a testament to the hotel's hospitality.

At the reserved time, the food is delivered to your room. In addition, a dedicated staff member carefully sets each dish on the dining table by the window. It is the ultimate luxury to sit around the perfectly prepared table, illuminated by the morning sun pouring in through the large windows. Outside the window, a magnificent view of the big city spreads out before you.
"Arranging tableware in a way that is easy for guests to use in a limited space is an extremely difficult task. It's something only room service staff can do," says Toyoshima. While the tableware is being set up, guests can relax on the sofa, get ready for the day, or do whatever they like.
The Chinese porridge and dim sum breakfast is a testament to the Peninsula's Hong Kong roots
The most popular breakfast set is the "Chinese Congee and Dim Sum Breakfast" (7,000 yen) prepared by Hei Fung Terrace, an authentic Chinese restaurant on the second floor of the hotel. The carefully prepared Cantonese cuisine is beautifully presented, unique to the Peninsula, which originated in Hong Kong.

From seafood Chinese porridge and fried noodles, to freshly steamed dim sum and desserts, the meals are hearty and have a wide range of flavors, leaving you extremely satisfied.

The Chinese rice porridge is seasoned so well that it fills you up easily even in the morning. The seafood is plentiful, making it feel like a feast. The soy sauce-flavored fried noodles have a nice texture from the thin noodles and bean sprouts, and the subtle spices in the dim sum will wake you up in the morning.
The shojin ryori-inspired breakfast is a special treat only available in Tokyo
Also worth checking out is the "Naturally Peninsula Breakfast Inspired by SHOJIN" (7,000 yen), which will be available from 2022. "Naturally Peninsula" is a plant-based dish served at The Peninsula Hotels around the world, but this is a breakfast menu inspired by Japanese shojin ryori cuisine that can only be enjoyed in Tokyo.
With the rise of health consciousness worldwide, this breakfast is also popular among guests from overseas. With a light taste and deep flavor made from seasonal ingredients, it is the perfect way to start the day, and many guests choose it simply for its deliciousness.

The main dish is "Five Grain Rice Hagakure Risotto," a dish made with five grain rice (glutinous rice, red rice, black rice, rice, and millet) and seasoned with "Hagakure miso" from Nagano Prefecture, and finished like a grilled rice ball.

You can eat it as is, or pour the shiitake mushroom broth with Kaga Bocha tea over it to make it more like ochazuke. The aroma of the nori seaweed that rises from it is incredibly refreshing.

"Seasonal Fruit and Ten-Grain Rice Cereal" is also perfect for breakfast. Enjoy it with smooth tofu cream and balsamic vinegar. Take your time to savor the fresh flavors of the ingredients.
This is truly hotel-made. You have to try these soufflé pancakes with plenty of meringue at least once
The wide variety of a la carte menu items is sure to be a hit, but the most popular item is the chef's recommendation, the "Souffle Pancakes" (2,530 yen). For those with a sweet tooth, this is sure to be a blissful choice for your morning.

There are two varieties available, berry and matcha, but on the day I went I had the berry flavor.

You can also top it with the mascarpone cheese and special fruit sauce that are served separately, which will make you feel excited and excited. To finish it off, add strawberry powder. You can also add maple sauce to your liking.

When you hear the word "soufflé," you might imagine a fluffy dough, but when you put a knife into it, it is surprisingly chewy and springy. The moist and dense texture comes from the generous amount of meringue used. The sweet and sour sauce clings to it well, and you'll be smiling with every bite.
You can order just one smoothie. Even on mornings when you don't have much of an appetite, you can wake up feeling a little luxurious.
For those who don't eat much in the morning, we recommend the Peninsula's special smoothie. The "Energy Booster Smoothie" (1,850 yen) promises a luxurious wake-up. In-room dining allows you to order just one smoothie.

This dish is made with pineapple, banana, carrot, almond milk and turmeric. It is a recipe that is kind to your body and does not contain any sugar or dairy products. It will gently take care of your stomach even if you eat a little too much at dinner last night.
It goes down smoothly, has no green or bitter taste from the vegetables, and the sweetness and subtle acidity of the tightly squeezed ingredients permeates your body. It's fresh when it's freshly squeezed, and the fresh flavor doesn't change even after a while. It's a special morning, so you should take your time to enjoy it. It's a refreshing flavor that can be enjoyed on its own, or combined with other dishes.
