Food professionals come together! Tsukiji's recommended gourmet spots to eat while walking
Tsukiji Outer Market also functions as a wholesale district. Its biggest attraction is that you can eat carefully selected ingredients from all over the country at reasonable prices. Many stores are bustling from early in the morning, so getting up a little early to have breakfast is one of the pleasures. Early in the morning, customers who are purchasing goods have priority, and many stores close around 3 p.m., so the golden time to go food-hunting is between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Secret recipe tamagoyaki! Enjoy it hot and fresh at "Marutake"

Marutake is a long-established store that was founded in the late Taisho period and specializes in tamagoyaki (Japanese egg omelets). It is also well known as the family home of director Terry Ito. The fresh eggs, carefully selected from the chickens' feed, are cooked in a secret broth to create a refined taste that is exquisite. Furthermore, you can enjoy freshly cooked tamagoyaki (Japanese egg omelets) at Tsukiji.

The "yakitama" is cooked right in front of you by a craftsman. The sweet aroma rising from the mouth will make your heart leap. With one bite, your mouth will be filled with a meltingly juicy, fluffy texture. Another great thing about this shop is that you can try the taste of this long-established shop for just 150 yen a piece.

Their standard product, tamagoyaki, is also popular as a mail-order gourmet item. It is also a popular small gift for locals. If you like it while walking around, why not take it home with you?

Many people who visit the market will want to enjoy seafood, and Saito Suisan's appeal is that you can enjoy small portions of fresh, seasonal fish carefully selected by experts.

Fresh sashimi and raw sea urchin... it's hard to resist trying different dishes, but the most popular items are the spectacularly large raw oysters. Oyster lovers will love the sight.

Sometimes you can find one that is as big as the palm of your hand! Its creamy texture and strong sweetness make it a truly rich and luxurious taste.

The "season" of ingredients is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our commitment to sourcing from the most delicious producing areas for each season is the result of over 50 years of experience and tradition. The lively atmosphere inside the restaurant is also heartwarming.

The tuna served in a food stall style is extremely fresh! "Maguroya Kurogin Tsukiji Outer Market Main Branch"
Speaking of Tsukiji, it's all about tuna. Even in the fiercely competitive outer market, Maguroya Kurogin is a popular restaurant with long queues. You can have fresh tuna caught in various places prepared for you on the spot.

The food stall atmosphere creates a special sense of realism. The sight of the fatty, shiny fish will get your heart racing. Order your favorite style, such as sashimi or rice bowl.

As a tuna specialty store, it is also attractive that you can try and compare various cuts. On this day, we had tuna kamatoro, otoro, and chutoro sushi. It goes without saying that it was extremely fresh, and the thickness of the meat was simply luxurious.

The tuna melts in your mouth, creating a truly blissful taste. Popular menu items may sell out before noon, so be sure to visit early.

For a light snack: "Suga Shoten" - a specialty dim sum restaurant from Tsukiji
If you want to try some meat as well as seafood, Suga Shoten is the perfect place to go when you're in that mood, as they serve piping hot dim sum.

They have a lineup of small meat buns that are just right for a light snack, as well as shumai made with luxurious fresh ingredients such as chicken, black pork, and scallops. There is also an anecdote that the Rakugo performer Tatekawa Danshun trained here when he was a junior performer.

The chicken shumai uses Daisen chicken from Tottori, and the black pork shumai uses Abel black pork from Kagoshima. All of the ingredients are purchased in Tsukiji every day, so it can be said to be "pure Tsukiji gourmet."

The steamed shumai are packed with meat and gravy, and the crunchy cartilage adds a fun accent. Even a bite-sized portion is extremely satisfying.

Just like a barista. Matcha is made right before your eyes at "MATCHA STAND MARUNI"
MATCHA STAND MARUNI, which opened in 2018, is a stand-style cafe where you can casually enjoy matcha. As soon as you step inside the stylish store with its tiled counter, you'll feel relaxed by the soft aroma of tea.

The matcha is carefully brewed one by one after receiving an order, and the rich aroma is a real surprise. The freshly brewed matcha is combined with plenty of milk.

The shop's recommendation is the iced matcha latte, which is said to bring out the rich, full-bodied flavor of the tea even more, and is recommended for the cold season as well.

Don't miss the beautiful moment when the matcha is poured into the milk and they blend together. Why not spend some relaxing time in the warm interior of the shop?
