JAL Hometown Support Team Chiba Prefecture Representative Ukita
I was born in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, and grew up near the airport, where airplanes felt like a constant presence.
I love Chiba, and on my days off I go back there to enjoy visiting cafes and going for drives.
In high school, I was a member of the Japanese drum club and my special skill was playing the bamboo flute. I also participated in the Narita Taiko Festival held at Naritasan Shinshoji Temple.
The Charm of Chiba Prefecture
Chiba Prefecture has many tourist attractions, including Japan's leading theme parks and large shopping malls, that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. There are also areas where historical streetscapes remain, allowing you to experience old-fashioned Japan.
Chiba Prefecture is blessed with a rich natural environment and is rich in delicious vegetables, fruits, and seafood. Chiba Prefecture's mascot character, "Chiba-kun," is extremely popular.
The local souvenirs chosen by the Chiba Prefecture Hometown Support Team are...
"Peanut Monaka"

Price: 1,300 yen for 8 pieces / Seller: Nagomi no Yoneya

This is a Japanese sweet that can be enjoyed with your eyes as well, with sweetened peanut paste sandwiched between peanut-shaped mochi. Not only does it look cute, but it is also a popular Chiba confection with a great number of fans, thanks to the fragrant mochi filling and the refined, not-too-sweet paste.
Even the outer box is cutely shaped like a peanut, making it a souvenir that will be enjoyed by people of all ages, from small children to adults.
Available for purchase at Nagomi Rice Shop Main Branch (Narita City, Chiba Prefecture)
