Hashino Iron Mine
Located in the northwest of Kamaishi City, the Hashino Iron Mine was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the "Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution: Iron and Steel, Shipbuilding and Coal Mining," a group of industrial heritage sites in the heavy industry sector (iron and steel, shipbuilding and coal mining) that pioneered Japan's industrialization from the end of the Edo period through the Meiji era.
