The newest spot, "Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo - The Making of Harry Potter," was built on the former site of the amusement park "Toshimaen" in Nerima Ward. The approach is designed like an English garden, like the ones in the movies "Harry Potter" and "Fantastic Beasts," and is lined with monuments based on the movies. As you walk past them, a brand new museum-like building will catch your eye.

The main attraction of this facility is a little different from the idea of "reliving the world of Hogwarts." As the name "Studio Tour" suggests, this is the second in the world after London and the first in Asia, and it is a new walk-through entertainment facility where you can see and experience behind the scenes of movie production.
Although there are no rides like those found in amusement arcades, there are exhibits of props actually used in the movies, large-scale sets are reproduced, and you can have a new experience using CG technology. An unprecedented experience awaits you, where you can enter the world of the movie and feel closer to the work.
The tour is quite extensive! Even if you take a quick look around, it will easily take half a day, but if you want to experience it thoroughly, a full day is not enough.

After experiencing the pre-show performed by the actual cast, you will surely be left breathless when the heavy golden door opens. Spreading out before you is the Great Hall of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The vast set, which resembles a school gymnasium, is real and was completed by the art staff of the movie in Japan. You will be overwhelmed by its power!
The experience of being immersed in familiar locations such as the Gryffindor Common Room, Platform 9 3/4, and Diagon Alley is one of a kind.

You can take home the excitement as a souvenir. There are several participatory activities called "Experiences," where you can enjoy a memorial movie based on the world of the film. Using technology that combines the green screen and CG used in the film, tour participants can enter the film.

There are three types of content: the "Broom Experience," where you ride a magical broom against a green screen and fly around Hogwarts; the "Quidditch Photo Shoot Experience," where you can become an excited gallery watching the sport "Quidditch" that appears in the film; and the "Moving Portrait Experience," where you can project your face onto the "moving portraits" displayed in Hogwarts.
After experiencing these, you can download the video content to your smartphone by scanning the QR code.
There are activities everywhere that make use of the latest digital technology, and being able to experience the world of the movies with all five senses is another big attraction.
British-style gourmet food is a must-try. Takeaway items available too
And let's not forget the food, as there are spots within the facility where you can enjoy meals, sweets, and more.
At the Butterbeer Bar, located at the midpoint of the tour, you can enjoy the familiar "Butterbeer" (1,100 yen) from the film. It is a British delicacy with a creamy buttery foam on a non-alcoholic sweet carbonation. You can wash the special beer cup and take it home.
Before or after the tour, there is the Frog Cafe, which serves drinks and sweets inspired by the world of the series, and the Food Hall, where you can enjoy traditional British cuisine.
Frog Cafe offers colorful takeaway cupcakes, each priced at 600 yen, and themed on the houses the main characters belong to, such as Gryffindor and Slytherin.
An overwhelming lineup of original goods
Also, don't forget to pick up official merchandise and other souvenirs. There are two places in the facility where you can purchase them. The first is the Railway Shop, located next to Platform 9 and 3/4, which you will visit during the tour.
For example, there are souvenirs related to the Hogwarts Express, such as this sweatshirt (9,500 yen).
The highlight is the "Main Shop" which you can visit before or after the tour. There are 14 sections divided into different themes, and it is decorated with more than 7,000 special order items and accessories, giving it a great atmosphere. There are also many limited edition items. The huge range of products is overwhelming, but how about some of the items selected by the editorial team?

There is also a wide selection of fabric items. From the top left: "Handkerchiefs" (770 yen, 660 yen) and "Tote Bags" (1,000 yen).

In addition to these, there are a huge number of souvenirs on display, and if you just want to wander around the shops, you will need 30 to 60 minutes to do so. The walking stick that is familiar in the work is reproduced in great detail and has a very heavy feel (4,600 to 4,900 yen). It will be delivered in a presentation box, and there is also an additional service of engraving your initials.
