Kundo Koyama appears! A fun talk show about gummy candies
And while gazing at Mt. Fuji standing in the spring haze, the first event was the "UHA Mikakuto Gummy Conference." It was held in the form of a talk show hosted by Kundo Koyama and Yuhi Komiyama.

"We received quite a number of applications this time," began Mr. Koyama and Mr. Komiyama, and their lively talk created a lot of excitement in the cabin. In addition to Mr. Keisuke Musha, Honorary Chairman of the Japan Gummy Association, actress Yumiko Shaku, who loves gummy candies, made a surprise appearance.
"I love UHA Mikakuto's 'Gummy Supplement' series. I originally started eating gummies to lose weight," said Shaku. With Musha's call of "Let's gummycation!", they shared the inside story behind the development of familiar gummies, including the hugely popular "Shigekix."

First Officer Yamashita, who attended the conference, has a father who works for UHA Mikakuto. He recalled, "I really wanted to be involved in this project, so I volunteered. We always had gummy candies and other candies at home, and I would have my friends help me grab them."

Customers also participated by raising their hands or making comments, and filled out a questionnaire with questions such as, "What is the most delicious gummy you have ever had in your life?" and "What kind of gummy would you like UHA Mikakuto to make?" The results of this survey will be discussed at UHA Mikakuto's product meeting.
Directly delivered from Kyoto! Lunch is a special bento from the traditional Japanese restaurant Shimogamo Saryo
Next came the long-awaited lunch. It was a special "Flying Restaurant Spring Chirashi" and "Taste of the Sky Bento" made by Shimogamo Saryo, a Kyoto restaurant where Koyama is the owner. The special menu was made in Kyoto and transported to Narita in time for the flight, making it a gorgeous and extravagant meal.

Opening the lid, an elaborate array of dishes is lined up, making for a truly gorgeous lunch. The bamboo shoots mixed with kinome buds have a slight bitterness. The raw ingredients, from the sea bream marinated in kelp to the kelp roe, are carefully prepared. The simmered abalone and kuruma prawns highlight the quality of the dashi stock. The palate cleanser is an omelette branded with the UHA Mikakuto branding mark. Its fluffy texture shows the skill of the chef. There is also a generous amount of salmon and salmon roe sushi in this bento, making it very satisfying in both quality and quantity.
After the meal, flight attendants in retro uniforms will serve UHA Mikakuto's hit products from each era, including the nostalgic "Junro" candy and "Puccho" desserts.
The afternoon was packed with activities. A very successful collaboration charter
After the meal, the second part of the "Flying Love Gummy Festival" began. Titled the "Flying Love Project," the idea was to "do things you want to do in the sky." People came to celebrate birthdays, reconciliations with old friends, college acceptances, and even a customer who wanted to reverse propose to their fiancé who proposed to them during the flight with a ring made out of gummy candy. The cabin was filled with a warm atmosphere.

Then, based on the survey results, another talk session was held. It was a fun but serious meeting to explore new forms of gummy candy.

A heart-shaped route around Western Japan
The second part ended with great success. Before we knew it, the plane was on its way back, tracing the Pacific coast from west to east. "It is a great honor to be the president of a company that makes gummy candy. Please continue to enjoy gummy candy, especially Mikakuto products!" President Yamada said in closing remarks.
"Thanks to everyone's support, it was a huge success. We hope to incorporate a wide variety of projects into our charter flights, not just our own, but also collaborations like this one."

These were the words of Yukiko Niwa from JAL's Route Operations Department, who was in charge of this charter flight.

This was an opportunity to once again see how the enjoyment and possibilities of flight can be greatly expanded through collaboration. JAL will continue to offer a variety of amazing charter flight plans for the enjoyment of our customers. Please look forward to them.
