Located at the tip of the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia, across the strait from Malaysia, Singapore is one of the most developed economies in Asia and a metropolis lined with modern skyscrapers.

In particular, bizarre buildings that seem like something out of a science fiction world, such as Marina Bay Sands, which looks like a ship on top of a building, and Gardens by the Bay, where artificial plants glow in the dark, captivate many tourists.

At the same time, Singapore is a country built by many different ethnic groups, including Malay, Indian, and Chinese, so one of its charms is being able to experience a diverse range of cultures. The atmosphere of each area, from Little India to Arab Street, changes completely, making walking around the city even more enjoyable.

A quick guide to popular tourist spots in just 3 lines!

Here we will introduce you to some must-see tourist spots when you go to Singapore. There are a variety of entertainment spots, including artificial waterfalls and illuminations that make use of cutting-edge technology, a zoo that is only open at night, and a botanical garden that is a World Heritage Site.

First, read a quick three-line summary to find out what's so great about the spot that interests you.

Visitors can also visit Sands SkyPark, which has an observation deck with a great view, as well as bars and restaurants where you can enjoy meals with a spectacular view.

The light show "SPECTRA" is held every night at the Event Plaza.

There are seven famous Merlions, the most well-known of which is the one in Merlion Park, commonly known as the "Marina Merlion." It was created in 1972 by Singaporean sculptor Lim Nang Seng.

Explore Singapore's main areas

Singapore has an area of only 725.7 square kilometers, roughly the same size as Tokyo's 23 wards. Among them, the Marina and Arab Street, which are popular with tourists, are concentrated in a small area in the southern part of the island.

Furthermore, Singapore has a train system called the MRT that connects the major areas, making it easy to get around. Adjacent areas are within walking distance, so it's a good idea to walk around as part of your trip. Some spots in the suburbs are a little difficult to access, so we recommend taking a taxi.

We've put together a map of the main areas, starting with the Marina area, where huge facilities stand along Marina Bay, and spreading out inland.
