[Azabudai] TeamLab Borderless: A unique and endless world of art

Located in the basement of Azabudai Hills in Tokyo, the Mori Building Digital Art Museum: Epson teamLab Borderless is a "museum without a map" where light and sound come together. The artworks move out of the rooms, blending naturally into other artworks and continuing beyond boundaries.

teamLab "People Don’t See the World as through a Camera" © teamLab

There are over 70 artworks scattered throughout the museum, all with themes of nature and perception. At the entrance, "People Don’t See the World as through a Camera" is a work in which the words "teamLab Borderless" appear in the space when you look at the entrance space through a camera at a designated position. The words do not appear when viewed directly with the naked eye, and you can see for yourself that the world seen through the human eye is different from the world seen through a lens.

teamLab "Bubble Universe: Spherical Crystallized Light, Wobbling Light, and Environmental Light - One Stroke" © teamLab

In addition, "Bubble Universe" is a work in which spheres are mathematically arranged so that the light created by people's presence is as beautiful as possible. Light and sound are transmitted to the spheres in response to the presence and movement of visitors. You can experience a "cognitive sculpture" in which your body perceives light that does not exist in the physical world.

The exhilarating feeling that comes with the impact is addictive once you try it. The "Five Tile Splitting Challenge," which is the most popular among both men and women, can be experienced for 2,200 yen.

The "Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome" is quietly located at the back of Yumenoshima Park in Koto Ward, Tokyo. Step inside the large glass dome and you'll enter another world, filled with warm air and lush greenery. The space feels like an untouched tropical forest, and you may notice your tension slowly fading in the calm, green surroundings.

The facility is divided into three greenhouse domes, where you can encounter a variety of tropical plants, from familiar plants such as mangroves that adorn the waterside, bananas, and cacao, to precious endemic species that live on the Ogasawara Islands. It is a space where you can quietly come face to face with nature, not just look at the plants, but listen carefully to the thickness of the leaves, the scent of the flowers, and the sound of the waterfall.

The indoor temperature is kept at around 20 degrees all year round, so you can stay comfortable even on rainy or chilly days. Spending time with plants, without having to worry about the weather, will help you escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

There are also seasonal exhibitions, workshops, a video hall, and a space where you can relax while looking at the plants, making it a place that satisfies both your intellectual curiosity and provides relaxation.

Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa is an aquarium located inside the Shinagawa Prince Hotel, about a two-minute walk from the Takanawa exit of Shinagawa Station. Rather than an aquarium, it is a cutting-edge entertainment facility that combines sound, light, video, and living creatures, and can be described as an "intuitive theme park." The wonderful space will make you want to take photos.

The attractions go beyond what you would normally find at an aquarium, such as the Dolphin Party, a merry-go-round surrounded by music and LED lights attached to a 12-meter wall, and the Port of Pirates, a dynamic attraction where you can experience a world of zero gravity on a giant pirate ship.

"BOOK AND BED TOKYO SHINJUKU" is a hot topic due to its unique concept of "a bookstore where you can stay overnight" and its stylish and fashionable interior. If it rains and you don't feel like going out for an active trip, but you still want to spend some quality time, this is the perfect spot for you!

This is a space where you can fully indulge in that blissful moment we’ve all experienced at least once—when you're so immersed in a favorite book or manga that time slips away, and before you know it, you’ve gently drifted off to sleep, still wrapped in the world of the story.

Image 2: [Shinjuku] "BOOK AND BED TOKYO SHINJUKU" is a "bookstore where you can stay overnight" with a stylish space lined with books.

The books selected by SHIBUYA PUBLISHING & BOOKSELLERS cover a wide range of genres, and the sight of 2,500 books lined up is overwhelming (it can store up to 4,000 books). The lineup includes not only Japanese books, but also English books and even travel guides to Japan, so it's no wonder that it's attracting attention from overseas visitors.

Furthermore, if you are staying overnight, you can choose from four different room sizes to suit your preference. Photo: [Asakusa] Choose, taste, and find a flavor you'll want to talk about at "Tasting BAR Asakusa"

"Tasting Bar Asakusa" is a new food discovery spot in Asakusa, Tokyo. It is an experiential store where you can sample over 120 hidden gems collected from all over Japan, all for free. It is a bar-style counter where you can choose your favorite item and tell the staff, and it will be carefully served on a small plate on the spot. The charm of this store is that you can casually encounter delicious food from all over Japan while blending into the bustling streets of the tourist destination Asakusa.

Many of the vendors are local primary producers, manufacturers, and sales supporters, and they participate by carefully selecting their ingredients. It's a wonderful experience to learn about the thoughts of the vendors and enjoy conversations while finding a flavor that suits you.

In addition, it is possible to compare different types of sake and provide feedback to exhibitors through a questionnaire after tasting. Repeat customers naturally gather, and the products selected through tasting are apparently attracting attention as e-commerce sites and as gifts in return for hometown tax donations.

The surrounding area is a covered shopping street, so it's perfect for a quick stop without getting wet in the rain. It's a hidden spot in Asakusa where tourists and locals alike can easily enjoy new "delicious discoveries."
