9:00 Nishikiya Sanuki Wasanbon dried sweets making experience
With a history of over 200 years, Wasanbon is the finest sugar, boasting a refined sweetness and a smooth texture. First, select four of your favorite wooden molds from the dozens available. Choose four colors from the pink, blue, yellow, green, and white Wasanbon sugar and fill the wooden molds. Gently tap the wooden mold to remove it from the mold, then transfer it to a tray and it's done. Make 12 pieces, two of which you can eat with matcha. The remaining 10 can be taken home in a gift box. Semi-dried Wasanbon is a supreme taste that can only be enjoyed by those who participate in the experience plan. The experience starts with two people, and a maximum of 40 people can participate at one time. The experience takes about 50 minutes, and reservations must be made by the day before. 10:40 Facility tour and tasting at Kinrei-no-Sato
Located at the entrance to the approach to Konpira-san (Kotohira Shrine), the white-walled sake brewery has been restored exactly as it was when sake brewing first began (1789). The History Museum and Culture Museum, built around Kusunoki Square, where a large camphor tree stands, have renovated the brewery and use dolls and sake brewing tools from the time to clearly explain and recreate the sake brewing process from the Edo period. There is an introduction video and tokkuri, sake bottles, and labels are on display. You can also sample the sake (free of charge) at the attached museum shop. (Takes about 1 hour)
