Liven up your tropical trip with matching T-shirts! "THE NORTH FACE/HELLY HANSEN Ishigaki"

The first thing you want to get at the beginning of your trip is matching outfits. Just wearing the same outfit with your friends will mysteriously make you feel more excited.
We arrived at "THE NORTH FACE/HELLY HANSEN Ishigaki." This store is located in "730 COURT," a shopping complex themed on clothing, food, and beauty in downtown Ishigaki Island, and is bustling with tourists and locals alike, offering the latest clothing and gear perfect for outdoor activities on the island.

The item selected here is the special order "Ishigaki Map Tee" (5,390 yen) from HELLY HANSEN. It comes in two colors, HB (Helly Blue) and W (White), and is available in a wide range of sizes (unisex) from XS to XL.
The front is a simple plain design, while the back features a map of Ishigaki Island and the creatures that live on the island, such as sea turtles and manta rays. Every time you look at the back print, you'll be reminded of the beauty of the coral reefs and lush subtropical forests. It might be fun to decide on a destination while looking at the map, such as "Shall I go to this area today?"
There are also plenty of other limited items that can only be purchased here, such as T-shirts with Iriomote wildcats, knapsacks decorated with Minsa patterns, and hoodies with the latitude and longitude of the Ishigaki store written on them, so be sure to find your favorite.

Yonago Yaki Kobo: Find a cute "Chibi-chan Shisa" as a travel talisman

Shisa, which are often seen on tiled roofs, are amulets that have been passed down since ancient times in Okinawa. Nowadays, they have become an indispensable part of Okinawa souvenirs. There are many different types of shisa lined up in souvenir shops, but if you want to meet a unique shisa, head to Yonago Yaki Kobo!
In this workshop, they handcraft each and every Shisa with an original design. The most popular is the palm-sized "Chibi-chan Shisa" (770 yen). With their cute smiles and colorful lineup, you'll probably have a hard time deciding which one to take home. In that case, why not choose a gift that matches the person you're giving it to and give it to them in their favorite color?

The Yonago Pottery Workshop Shisa Farm, which is attached to the workshop, is a popular photo spot. The vast site of about 33,000 square meters is dotted with tropical fruit trees, streams, and huge, colorful shisa sculptures. The shisa, standing comfortably in the midst of the magnificent nature, are photogenic and sure to attract attention on social media! You'll be able to take lots of commemorative photos.

Travel back in time wearing colorful Ryukyu costumes! "Ishigaki Yaima Village"

* Currently, Hanagasa is not available.
If you're traveling, you'll want to experience the local culture. Ishigaki Yaima Village is a theme park at the southernmost tip of Japan that recreates the traditional houses of the Yaeyama region. There are six old houses in the park, four of which are registered tangible cultural properties.
It's fun just to look around the old houses, but the Ryukyu Costume Experience (1,000 yen) allows you to try on Okinawan dyed fabric, "Bingata." The vibrantly colored textiles that stand out against Okinawa's greenery and blue skies will add a touch of glamor to your graduation trip memories. Of course, don't forget to take a commemorative photo in matching outfits. Spending time in a house with a red tiled roof while wearing Bingata will make you feel like you've traveled back in time to old Okinawa.

One of the attractions of Ishigaki Yaima Village is the opportunity to experience the nature and atmosphere of the tropics. You can observe the subtropical forest from the nature trail that leads to Nagura Amparu, which was registered under the Ramsar Convention in 2005, or interact with squirrel monkeys in the Squirrel Monkey Forest, where Bolivian squirrel monkeys are kept in conditions close to their natural habitat.

"Avance" - A souvenir filled with the scent of your travels
Since scents tend to remain in our memories, we recommend bringing back matching scents that remind you of your graduation trip!
Avance, located in the city center, sells original soaps and herbal teas made with ingredients from Ishigaki Island, such as hibiscus, pineapple, and shell ginger.
"Ishigaki Island salt and hibiscus facial soap"
"Ishigaki Island Pineapple Facial Soap"
Among these, the facial soap is a popular souvenir item. The soap is made from ingredients from the island and aged for about 40 days, and it lathers well and rinses off easily, so it can be used not only on the face but also on the whole body.
"Ishigaki Island Salt and Hibiscus Facial Soap" (1,320 yen) contains salt from Ishigaki Island and hibiscus flowers, and has a floral, not-too-sweet scent. The illustration on the package shows a shisa collecting ingredients for soap.
The "Ishigaki Island Pineapple Facial Soap" (1,320 yen) has a juicy pineapple scent that will make your bath time more exciting. Another great thing about this soap is that it does not contain any synthetic surfactants, coagulants, or animal-derived ingredients!
"In the Sea"
"Shell ginger"
If you're looking for a fragrant souvenir, be sure to check out the "Ishigaki Island Aroma Cologne" (1,650 yen each). All of the scents, such as "Umi no Naka," a blend that evokes the ocean around Ishigaki Island, and "Shell Ginger," which contains an extract from shell ginger grown on Ishigaki Island, will make you feel as if you're surrounded by nature.
Soap and cologne do not leave any physical traces, but if you choose the same scent, the aroma will surely bring back memories of the conversations and scenery you had during your trip every time you are soothed by it.

Drinks with paper packaging that read "Genki" that you often see in supermarkets and convenience stores on Ishigaki Island are local drinks sold only in the Yaeyama Islands. They are products of Yaeyama Genki Dairy, a dairy company located at the southernmost tip of Japan, and are all loved by locals, including "Genki Milk" and the lactic acid bacteria drink "Genki Cool." The boy depicted on the packaging, "Genki-kun," is so popular that original goods are being developed.
When you visit "Genki Ishigaki Sakai Shoten," you'll find a wide variety of Genki-kun goods, including Yaeyama Genki Dairy products, stickers, T-shirts, and more!

A matching item that you might want to buy is the "Genki-kun Cotton Drawstring Bag" (520 yen) available in five colors. You can also take it to work and get some Genki anytime.
You can also enjoy the "Genki Shake" (430 yen), which is only available at two locations on the island: the airport and this store. The shake, made with fresh Ishigaki raw milk, has an irresistible rich milk flavor...!
