World-famous restaurant opens first branch in Yokohama
The restaurant is located near Chaoyangmon Gate, the east gate of Yokohama Chinatown, along the Kaiko-dō street, about a 2-minute walk from Motomachi-Chukagai Station. The yellow exterior and tropical green decorations are the landmarks.
The reason why this store is unusual is that "Cafe Jan" is a world-famous store, and this Yokohama Chinatown store is the second store after the main store. Since its founding in Hanoi in 1946, it has refused to open a branch for over 70 years, but in 2018 it opened in Yokohama Chinatown as a form of landing in Japan.

"Egg Coffee" - a specialty invented by a famous bartender
The specialty is the "Egg Coffee" that originated at this store. Vietnam is known for its unique "Vietnamese Coffee", but this "Egg Coffee" is an innovative drink invented by Mr. Nguyen Van Giang, who was a bartender at the five-star hotel "Sofitel Legend Metropole" in Hanoi when the store first opened.

The recipe was inspired by the Italian cappuccino, and instead of milk, which was expensive at the time, eggs were used. Eggs and condensed milk are whipped into a custard-like cream and placed on top, mixed with a spoon, and scooped up to enjoy.

They are particular about their ingredients, and import their coffee beans directly from Vietnam. They use high-quality beans from the Dalat region, a famous coffee-producing area developed as a summer resort during the French colonial period. They then roast their own blend of Robusta and Arabica beans in-house, following the Italian method. This results in a rich aroma and, above all, a flavor that is perfect for "egg coffee."
"Egg Coffee" is available hot (550 yen including tax) as well as iced (500 yen including tax), and both have the perfect combination of fluffy sweet cream and bitter coffee. Please try this new and delicious taste that can be described as both coffee to eat and tiramisu to drink.

The recommended food is the unique banh mi
The recommended food is the "Banh Mi" (550 yen including tax), a Vietnamese sandwich that is becoming more and more familiar in Japan. Banh Mi ingredients are usually ham, liver paste, and pickled vegetables, but since this is Yokohama Chinatown, it is unique in that it contains Peking duck.

This "Banh Mi" is a sandwich of Peking duck and roast pork, made with their original sweet bean sauce, and topped with plenty of coriander and cucumber. It has a slightly sweet and refreshing taste, and goes well with the rich and creamy "Egg Coffee."
For those who don't like coffee, we recommend "Egg Matcha," "Egg Cocoa," and "Egg Cinnamon." "Egg Cinnamon" is an original menu item that is not available at the main store.

The shop has two floors and is a warm space that makes use of the warmth of wood. It is decorated with potted plants and Southeast Asian-style interiors, giving it a slightly exotic feel that is different from the Chinese atmosphere.
There are also photo spots set up with photo panels set up all over the place, so you're sure to take plenty of memorable photos.

There aren't many cafes in the area, so this is sure to be a useful spot to relax and unwind. It's a place you'll want to remember if you visit Yokohama Chinatown.
