The first message was sent on April 26th (Japan time) from Hawaii Governor David Ige, entitled "To the people of Japan who enjoy close ties with Hawaii."

David Ige has Okinawan roots and is famous for giving a speech in Japanese when he was elected governor of Hawaii in 2014.

A tourism video packed with Hawaii's charm has been released

The second video was released on May 10, 2020. It was produced by the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) as the opening video for the Global Tourism Summit.

The film, which is just under two minutes long, captures Hawaii's magnificent scenery and the exciting activities and gourmet food that visitors will love.

Please watch the video that came with the message, "Due to the current difficult situation, we are unable to meet you all in Hawaii, but we hope that you will look back on your precious memories of Hawaii's nature and people through these beautiful images. Video of Hawaii's most prestigious hula dance competition released

The Merrie Monarch Festival is the premier hula dance competition held every year in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. Selected hula dancers compete in categories such as Kahiko (traditional) and Auana (modern) over the course of a week.

Other events include a parade, Hawaiian music performances, Miss Aloha, traditional crafts and art exhibitions, etc. The city of Hilo becomes very lively during the festival.

Unfortunately, this year's Merrie Monarch Festival has been canceled, but a video of the 2019 event has been released. We'd like to introduce it together with a message from Hawaii.
