Enjoy a little luxury and have a fulfilling time! Food in Bangkok, Thailand
If you want to enjoy the food during your trip to Bangkok, Thailand, you'll want to choose a place that leaves a lasting impression. The five restaurants we'll introduce below are ones you can enjoy from a variety of angles, from local Thai cuisine to bars boasting great locations.
A whole giant lobster! A tom yum noodle shop with a great local atmosphere, "Peo"

"Tom Yum Noodles" has recently become popular in Japan. "Peo" is a restaurant that serves the famous Tom Yum Noodles in Bangkok, and is popular with local Thais and tourists alike.
The restaurant is located about a 10-minute walk from Ratchathewi Station on the BTS Skytrain, on a small, local street lined with food stalls and restaurants.

The highlight of this restaurant is the tom yum goong noodles with a whole giant lobster! The tom yum soup is not too spicy and has a moderate sourness, and is filled with plenty of seafood including lobster (if you like it spicy, you might want to ask for "spicy please"). The size of one bowl is quite large, so I recommend you try it with two or three people.

Thai restaurant "Somboon Seafood" originated the curry-flavored stir-fried crab (Poo Pad Pong Curry)

If you come to Bangkok, this is a restaurant you definitely want to visit! "Somboon Seafood" is a seafood restaurant that was founded in 1969 and serves Thai and Chinese cuisine. It is a famous restaurant that has been featured in the Michelin Guide and has eight locations in Bangkok.

Speaking of Somboon Seafood, the most popular dish is the curry-flavored crab (Poo Pad Pong Curry). It is the dish that most customers order, and it is no wonder, as Poo Pad Pong Curry originated from Somboon Seafood. This dish combines crab with a condensed flavor and a mellow sweetness with a spicy flavor.
Besides Pu Pad Pong Curry, there are other dishes such as Tom Yum Goong and Steamed Shrimp and Glass Noodles (Kung Op Woon Sen), all of which are delicious! Why not try all the delicious Thai seafood dishes at this famous restaurant, which is visited by many celebrities?

A hidden cafe "Ryoku Cafe" famous for its cute souffle pancakes that are sure to look great on Instagram!

Ryoku Cafe is a hidden house cafe located at the back of a busy soi (alley). The stylish white house stands like a refreshing toner in the chaotic atmosphere of Bangkok. The high-ceilinged, open interior of the cafe has a large kitchen where soufflé pancakes are baked.

The menu list includes photos, making it easy to choose, and all the dishes are cute and Instagram-worthy! We recommend the chef's choice of five desserts, the "Ryoku Konbo." It looks voluminous and very sweet, but it's not that sweet, and two people can easily eat it. It's a dessert that kills two birds with one stone: it's fun to look at and delicious to eat.
In addition to sweets, they also serve dishes using souffle pancakes, so it might be a good idea to drop in for breakfast or lunch.

The Deck: Enjoy delicious Thai food while looking out at the Temple of Dawn, Wat Arun

One of the most famous temples in Bangkok is Wat Arun. Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, this temple is also famous as a spot where you can watch the beautiful sunset, and in the evening it becomes packed with tourists who want to see its mystical appearance.
There are several restaurants on the opposite bank of the temple, but the most recommended is "The Deck" located in the hotel called Arun Residence. Just across the Chao Phraya River is Wat Arun, and from this spot you can see both the sunset over the temple in the evening and the illumination at night.

If you want to dine at a seat with a good view, we recommend making a reservation in advance (reservations can be made in English via the contact form on the website below or by email address).

Sirocco Sky Bar is a rooftop bar with a panoramic view of Bangkok's nightscape from the 64th floor.

If you come to Bangkok, you should definitely visit a rooftop bar. There are many rooftop bars scattered around Bangkok, but one that we would like to recommend is the Sky Bar on the 64th floor of the five-star hotel "Lebua at State Tower Hotel." The Sky Bar is located in a corner of the outdoor restaurant "Sirocco," and the view from there is open and breathtaking! You can see all the way from the area filled with skyscrapers to the Chao Phraya River.

It's difficult to fit a meal at Sirocco on the budget for this trip, but cocktails and other alcoholic drinks are available from 1,000 baht (about 4,000 yen) per glass. It's also close by by taxi from The Deck and Somboon Seafood (Surawong branch), which we've already introduced, so why not treat yourself to a light drink after your meal while enjoying the spectacular view?

If you want to shop on a budget in Bangkok, Thailand, we recommend the markets!
Even if you spend a little extra on food, if you've come all the way to Bangkok, you'll want to enjoy shopping, right? If you go to a market, you can browse through a variety of stores and find products at reasonable prices, so it's a great place to shop in Thailand! Here are three markets that are popular with tourists and Thai people alike.
Jodhpur Night Market is a short walk from Rama 9 MRT station.

Jodhpur Night Market, which opened in 2021, is a 4-minute walk from Phra Ram 9 MRT (subway) station. More than 200 stalls are packed into a large area. There are plenty of souvenir shops as well as fashion and miscellaneous goods stores, so you'll be satisfied just by looking around.

There are also outdoor restaurants and places to drink, so it's recommended to enjoy a leisurely meal or a drink while cooling off after the sun goes down.

We recommend visiting the evening and night at the beautifully lit market "Asiatique the Riverfront"

PIXTA/ Sakosshu Taro
Located along the Chao Phraya River, Asiatique the Riverfront is the first place that comes to mind when talking about markets in Bangkok. The nearest BTS (Skytrain) station is Saphan Taksi Station, from where you can take a free shuttle boat and get there in about 10 minutes (running every 30 minutes).
The retro atmosphere of this renovated warehouse space is filled with a huge number of shops and restaurants. You can also enjoy activities such as Japan's largest Ferris wheel and transvestite shows (both of which require a fee).
We recommend the view along the river in the evening! As the sun sets on the opposite bank of the river, the water reflects the beautiful sunset, giving you a little twilight feeling.

ICON SIAM: A fun indoor area modeled after a floating market

On the G floor (the first floor in Japan) of Icon Siam, one of Thailand's largest department stores, which also houses the Japanese department store Takashimaya, there is a shopping area based on the motif of a traditional Thai floating market. There are many shops selling Thai-style food and traditional crafts, so you can have a refreshing experience just by walking around.

It's indoors and has air conditioning, so why not drop in to cool off on a hot day?

Want to have fun in Bangkok for less? Three memorable spots
If you're thinking, "Have fun in Bangkok," but you don't know where to go because there are so many tourist spots, we'll introduce you to three spots that are perfect for a trip on a limited budget and will provide you with experiences that you can't easily get in Japan.
"Lymphatic Massage & Physical Therapy RENE" is known for its small face correction facials

If you'd like to visit a spa in Thailand, a beauty powerhouse, then this is the place for you. This wellness spa has a Thai nationally licensed physical therapist on-site, and offers more than just massages, but a full-scale approach to improving physical problems.
The shop is located about a 5-minute taxi ride from the MRT (subway) Huai Khwang station. The building is painted pink, the shop's image color, and stands out in the street full of local color, so although it is a bit far from the station, you should not get lost.

What sets this facial course apart from other spas is that it is a set of treatments with three different approaches: "strengthen and relax muscles," "relax fascia," and "drain lymph." It is said that with just one treatment, you can get several times the effect of a regular lymphatic massage.
The "slimming facial" is a treatment that is also popular among male customers, so be sure to try it once and experience the effects for yourself.
