I want to enjoy the things I can only experience while traveling.

Tamamori leads a busy life as a member of the popular group "Kis-My-Ft2," but when he has time off he loves traveling and will go on a quick trip.
Tamamori: "I always want to travel. Whenever I have a long holiday, I feel like going. Right now I'm really interested in Brazil, and I want to see live samba in Rio. When I travel, I want to treasure the things that I can only enjoy and experience at my destination. My current dream is to dance with a samba troupe one day."
Tamamori-san spoke with a smile and a look of joy. "If I can go to Rio, I'll film myself dancing in a sparkly costume and show it to everyone!" he said, unable to hide his excitement for his upcoming trip.
Tamamori: "Just like with samba information, when I travel I do thorough research on the place. There's a chance that you might only be able to go there once in your lifetime, right? So I do thorough research and fill my travels with information, like delicious local cuisine that can only be eaten there and scenic spots that can only be seen there."
Tamamori's travel style is to plan his trips carefully in advance so that he can enjoy his time at the destination to the fullest. He seems to be thorough in his preparations for the trip, and starts packing two to three days in advance. The thing he packs most in his bag is clothes. He prepares and takes lots of clothes with him because he wants to look stylish wherever he goes.
When asked about how he spends his time on the plane, Tamamori shared his own personal preferences.
Tamamori: "I use a neck pillow on the plane so I can sleep whenever I want. Also, I can't fall asleep easily if the sounds around me bother me, so I try to bring along noise-canceling earphones or headphones. Sleeping on the plane is very important (laughs)."
The first time I got on an airplane, I was fascinated by the view outside.

Tamamori: "I often take a week off during the New Year holidays to go abroad. Due to my schedule it was a whirlwind trip, but I have fond memories of going to France and America. My first trip abroad was to New York."
The first time Tamamori flew on a plane was when he was a junior high school student and still active as a Johnny's Jr.
Tamamori: "It was when I went to Osaka to dance as a backstage performer at a senior's concert. It was my first time on a plane, so I was so happy that I kept looking out the window at the sky. The senior members were used to it so they were sleeping, but I was glued to the view outside the window the whole time (laughs). At the time, Miyata (Toshiya), who is now in the same group, was sitting next to me, and when we take off and gain altitude, your body naturally leans backwards. I told him it was an 'automatic recline!' and we all had fun together (laughs). Looking back on it now, it was so innocent."
By pursuing realism, we want to convey the greatness of the aviation industry.

Tamamori will play the role of a pilot in "NICE FLIGHT!", which will start on July 22, 2022. Tamamori often travels by plane, and through filming he has had many realizations about air travel.
Tamamori: "Until now, I thought it was natural that when I got on a plane, it would take me to my destination as scheduled. But while filming, I got to see what goes on behind the scenes at JAL, and I was amazed to learn that so many people are involved in flying a single plane, and that it is only through precise calculations and work that it can fly safely. And above all, I realized the weight of the responsibility of carrying the lives of so many people on their shoulders and delivering the plane safely to its destination. I feel more grateful than ever to all the people in the aviation industry who ensure the safety of air travel."
For Tamamori, who loves to travel, it seems to have been a very valuable experience to learn that a comfortable flight is made possible not only by the visible courteous service and attention to detail, but also by the efforts of the people behind the scenes who are rarely seen.
He also says that he feels pressured to take on the role because being a pilot is a dream job for many people.
Tamamori: "When I study pilots and talk to active pilots, I feel that it's a job that requires a strong sense of responsibility. There are many things that you have to remember, and I respect that. For filming, we actually borrowed a plane and operated it from the cockpit, and it was very tense because you never know what could happen if you make a single mistake in the procedure. But there are also a lot of things that I find fun. There are countless switches in the cockpit, and it's fun to get to know each one of them. I think the cockpit is full of romance."
Not only when operating in the cockpit, but also when communicating with the control tower and speaking technical terms in English, they pay great attention to even the smallest details in their actions and words, in pursuit of realism.
Finally, we asked him about his enthusiasm for the new drama "NICE FLIGHT!"

Tamamori: "I want to convey through the drama the reality of people working at airports and how planes fly. I want to convey the wonderfulness of the people working in this industry. And I would be happy if one day I hear someone say, 'I decided to enter the aviation industry after watching this drama!'"
